Family Solicitor – Norfolk

Our client is looking to hire a family lawyer who is at least 4 years’ PQE.

You will join an established law firm who now only deal with private family work (historically they have also done some legal aid work).  Although the firm currently have a locum lawyer, you will be the only person in the firm specialising in family work.

You must be able to work relatively unsupervised to be considered, though you will be able to get support from the experienced locum within the firm as well as from counsel.

This position is a replacement role for a recently retired partner.

Litigation Lawyer – Norwich

Our client in Norwich is seeking to hire a litigation lawyer of around 3+ years’ PQE.

You will join an established team of litigators who cover these areas:

  • Contentious probate
  • Contentious property
  • Breach of contract
  • Debt recovery
  • Director and shareholder disputes
  • Professional negligence
  • Possibly some insolvency litigation

Your experience in litigation could be mixed or specialised to be considered. This position is a new growth role in response to the firm having had an increase in work flows from their existing and growing client base.  The firm is happy to consider both full and part-time candidates.

Conveyancer (Qualified) – Norfolk

Our client, a law firm based in Norfolk is seeking an experienced conveyancer.  They are a traditional law firm and they tend to only hire qualified staff.   Their lawyers manage the full transaction with secretarial support on a 1:1 basis with their clients.

You will manage a caseload of conveyancing files including purchase, sales and remortgages from instruction to completion which can include:

  • Preparing and drafting documentation as required
  • Liaising with solicitors, clients and estate agents on aspects of the conveyancing transaction
  • Keeping the case management system up to date
  • Preparing reports on title
  • Dealing with pre-contract enquiries
  • Applying for and investigating property search results
  • Responsible for exchange and completions of files

Due to this position being in the depths of Norfolk, an understanding of unregistered land is also required, since this is a common occurrence amongst the firm’s client base.

The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis and the salary is negotiable depending on experience. You will also get involved with training trainee solicitors and legal executives.

Corporate Commercial Lawyer (senior) – Norwich

Our client in Norwich is seeking a senior corporate/commercial lawyer.  Right now this firm’s lawyers are working remotely,  but in the longer-term lawyers will likely be working a mix of office and remote.

The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience, and ideally, have a following of clients which will cover their first year’s salary, whilst they build up their work levels to that of other senior people in the firm. The firm already have a strong and established corporate/commercial team.  The firm also have a good commercial property, employment and commercial litigation team.

The firm has been enjoying steady growth, making careful lateral hires (from a mixture of the local market and further afield) and have not been adversely impacted by Covid-19.

Senior Employment Lawyer – Norwich

Our loyal client is searching for an Employment Lawyer to take on a significant role in Norwich. This is at Senior Associate level or above. You should be at least 5 years’ PQE.  The firm have a significant amount of employment work they need help with servicing.  You would get exposed directly to clients from day 1.

Your workload may include:
– Large scale TUPE transfers, group restructurings, workforce reductions, mass redundancies
– High-profile litigation on behalf of boardroom directors and CEOs
– Employment policy drafting and advising employers on general HR matters
– Defending employers on complex tribunal claims

You will have the opportunity to grow the team and supervise trainees.

The firm have large corporate, commercial, commercial property and litigation teams who work closely with employment lawyers.

The firm is happy to have a direct informal, confidential chat/video call with any solicitor or senior lawyer who might want more information before deciding whether they are interested.

The firm’s interview process at this level is informal and relaxed; it is a chat, basically, to see if you like each other.
